Bio:
Jessica Laliberte received her BA in Dance from Columbia
College Chicago. After working as a dancer/choreographer
in Chicago, Ms. Laliberte brings her expertise in dance,
choreography, improvisation and theater to Tennessee
area schools. Ms. Laliberte has created dance and theater
works for students of all ages in school settings, community
theaters, recreation centers and after school programs.
Jessica is on adjunct faculty at Chattanooga Center
for Creative Arts. Ms. Laliberte is a founding member
of Skwalking Heads Productions.
Residencies
Dance/Theater Residencies with Ms. Laliberte connect
the basic elements of dance to the specified curriculum
to promote life success skills such as persistence,
positive risk-taking, cooperative team building and
self-discipline. Appropriate curricular crossovers include
creating a dance/theater residency that instructs and
excites students about science, literature, social studies
and history. For Example:
Folk Dances from Around the World (K-4)
Students will learn cultural dances from Japan, Africa
and the Netherlands. Other Folk dances available, depending
on curricular needs. (Social Studies, language arts,
history, and geography).
Creative Dance and Storytelling (1 – 12)
Students and teachers will chose stories from their
curriculum and explore them through creative dance to
promote literacy. (Language arts, history, social studies,
science).
Where Did I Come From? (1 – 12)
Students will research their heritage and create a dance
and/or text about their family history. Longer residencies
may culminate with a final performance.
Custom
Designed Dance Residencies (K – 12)
Ms. Laliberte will work with teachers to custom design
a dance/theater experience for students of all ages,
across any curriculum. All residencies incorporate the
National Standards for the Arts in Dance and Theater.
Touring Productions
The Classic Mime Show (K-12)
This high paced touring performance introduces students
to the art forms of pantomime, mask work and movement.

Magic and Mayhem (K-12)
This collaborative touring performance incorporates
the art forms of magic, illusion, pantomime, mask-work
and movement. Study Guides provided. (Available September
and October)
